Jennifer Rodriguez holds the Third Flute/Piccolo position with the Richardson Symphony Orchestra. An active performer and collaborative artist, Dr. Rodriguez has held positions with the Universidad Autonoma de Cuidad Juarez Orquestra Sinfonica, the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, the El Paso Opera Orchestra, and the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra at NMSU. She is heard as a featured soloist with the University of Texas at El Paso Wind Symphony in recordings distributed by Mark Custom Records of music by David Holsinger, Roger Cichy, Julie Giroux, and Frank Ticheli.
As an educator, Dr. Rodriguez is a co-director of Flute! In Granbury, a class for flutists with a focus on musical performance and audition preparation. Previously, she was Adjunct Instructor of Flute at Tarleton State University. In addition, Dr. Rodriguez was awarded a Teaching Fellowship by the University of North Texas (2013-2015) and was voted Rookie Teacher of the Year (2010) by colleagues from the Clint Independent School district in El Paso, TX. She is also a founding member of the El Paso Flute Club, an organization dedicated to promoting the music excellence of the El Paso flute community and focuses on elementary, middle school, and high school educational outreach.
Dr. Rodriguez received the Bachelor of Music (2008) and Master of Music (2010) degrees from the University of Texas at El Paso and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Texas (2018). Master class coachings include those with Federica Lotti, professor at the Conservatory of Music Benedetto Marcello in Venice, Italy and Nathalie Joachim of Flutronix. Major teachers include Dr. Melissa Colgin-Abeln and Dr. Mary Karen Clardy.
